Convert your video and audio files in a wide variety of formats

Total Video Converter is definitely among the best video converters. Basically the program allows you to convert a video file in various formats. After the application is installed and you start it you will notice that it has a straightforward interface. There are no complicated menus that could make the experience of interacting with this program a little bit difficult.

Despite of the fact that the interface is very simple it looks very good. The blue color that can be found at the top and at the bottom of the application looks great. However if you have decided to use Total Video Converter you will certainly not look after such things. The only aspect in which you will be extremely interested is the program's capabilities to convert video files in various types of formats.

To be able to convert your favorite video files all that you have to do is to go to New Task and navigate through the folders of your computer and select the files that you would like to be converted. After you have selected a video, a window will appear with all the available formats in which you can choose to convert your video file.
 
You can choose a wide variety of video formats such as: 3GP, ASF, AVI, FLV, GIF, MOV, MP4, MPEG, SWF, TS, WMV, MKV etc. Beside those there is also available a couple of HD formats including AVCHD Disc, WMV-HD Video, DivX-HD Video, MKV-HD Video etc. What i like a lot about Total Video Converter is that it allows you to convert files to be compatible with various devices such as: PSP, Ipod, iPhone, Apple TV, iPad, Zune Video, Pocket PC, XBox 360, PS3 and many others.

Beside video this application is also capable to convert your audio files in AAC, AC3, FLAC, M4A, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA and so on. Before deciding on the converting options first you have to establish the place where you want your files to be converted. You can either choose the default location or you can establish a new one.
 
After this is checked then the process can begin. For the test i have chosen a 350 MB video file. After the file and the video format in which you want to convert have been selected all that is left to be done is to press the Convert Now button which is located near the New Task section.

The conversion speed certainly did not impress me. Despite of the fact that the test was made on a quad core CPU the process was pretty slow. When it comes to audio files the situation is totally changed. However this is mainly because of the size of the audio files.

Total Video Converter is definitely a very good application. It offers you a wide variety of converting options and on top of that it is very easy to use. However there is one big problem with the program. In the case of the video files the exceed 300MB the conversion speed is slow.
