Excellent video converting application
Just like the name says this is a video converter and the most important thing is that it comes for free.
After you have accomplished the download and install processes, which both take a very short amount of time, and you start Hamster Free Video Converter you will be welcomed by an extremely good looking interface.
Not only that it looks good but is very easy to be used. The main interface of the program is very simple. You have the big Add file button and the Options menu. In Options you don't have lots of settings available. You can only choose the language.
Beside using the Add files button when you want to load up various videos that you want to convert you can also drag them into the center of the main window.
After you have loaded a video file you can either choose to add more or press next. For the purpose of this review i pressed next.
You can choose to convert the video file in order to be compatible with various devices such as the iPad, Nokia N900, Microsoft Xbox, Creative ZEN X-Fi and others.
If you do not want something like that you can very easily choose to convert in the available formats such as avi, mpeg, wmw, mkv, mp4, 3gp, swf, YouTube and DVD.
The moment you have chosen in which format you want to convert you are given the choice to select a specific resolution and the video quality.
The speed of the converting process really depends on the resolution that you choose and how big is the video file. For the test i have loaded a 700 MB video and the converting speed was pretty slow.
To be honest i really like Hamster Free Video Converter. The application has a great looking interface, it is very easy to use and there are lots of formats in which you can choose to convert your video files. The only thing that i don't like so much is that the converting speed is slow.
