Recover data from various type of devices
Recover Files Platinum is a software that can be used to recover various lost or deleted data.
Starting the program, what i don't like is that the interface takes the whole screen.
In front of you a window appears in which are displayed the recovery capabilities of this program.
Pressing the Next button you will be able to choose the type of files that you want to be recovered: media and different files, office documents.
What i want to mention is that there are twelve configuring steps so setting up the program certainly that takes a while.
After you have selected the files, again click on Next. In the menu that appears you need to specify the amount of files that were lost and should be recovered.
Then you will have to choose the location where that data was located.
What i like is that the software is able to recover files from a music player, Flash/SD/Memory drive, camera, camcorder, and of course various locations on your computer.
In the next field you can specify part of the names or exact names of the lost files. However at any time you can select the option Don't Remember.
In the File Size window that appears you may pick the average size of the lost data: tiny, small, medium, large and huge. Again you are provided the Don't Remember option.
Next you'll get the chance to indicate the total size of the lost files: less than 1.5 mb, up to 600 mb, up to 4700 mb, up to 10 gb, 10 gb and more etc.
Then a very annoying registration window appears. What i don't like is that you can't skip this process.
You need to enter fields such as: first name, last name, email address and even the phone, zip code/postal code, city and address.
After this, the software will search for deleted files. When this process is finished, just click on the Next button.
The application will run the recovering deleted files procedure. What i like is that both the searching and recovering processes did not take a long amount of time.
Eventually you get the message Recovered Successfully. The recovered content can be managed in various ways: View Content, Burn on CD/DVD disk, Copy to the Specified Folder and Copy to my Flash/SD/Memory drive.
I selected Copy to the Specified Folder and then a window appeared in which you are asked to complete registration in order to get your files.
You have to select from various payment methods and at some of them is required to introduce personal and sensitive data such as credit card number, bank account etc.
In my opinion i think is just not right to pay for something without being sure if that product works.
Personally if I'm not able to test the software for free for a certain period of time in order to see if it's any good, i would not consider buying it.
Good:
-very easy to use
-you can recover content from a wide variety of devices
-fast searching and recovering procedures
Bad:
-setting up the program takes a significant amount of time
-there isn't offered a trial period in order to test the program
-to get your recovered files is required to buy the software
-the interface takes the whole screen
