Useful and efficient autorun removal tool
Autorun Virus Remover represents an removal tool which offers you protection against the threats that are trying to infect you computer via a USB flash drive. The installation process of this application doesn't take long as the size of the installer has only 2.3MB.
After the installation process is complete and you start the program a window will appear in which the application informs you that it will assist in scanning USB storage devices, memory and hard disk. All that you have to do is to press the Next button. If you have an USB flash drive with various content on it, Autorun Virus Remover will scan it and detect if it's infected or not with viruses.
The moment the process have been completed, bellow at Status will appear the message that USB drive has been scanned. After you click again next the program will scan your memory and hard disk. According to the application this process will take about 3 minutes. When i tested this it took approximately 5 minutes. So this is pretty close to their target.
After this process is completed all that you have to do is to press finish. A small window will be displayed which in my opinion has a pretty good looking interface. This is certainly not a very complicated program. You have a Scan option which basically scans all of your local drives, removable media and operating memory.
At Process are displayed all the running processes in your system. By entering tools you can find two interesting features: Unlock USB Devices and USB Devices Security. The first one can be used if you encounter difficulties in removing your USB disk. The second feature, USB Devices Security, has two options that can prevent theft of information: Disable usage of any USB storage devices and Disable writing data to the USB storage devices.
Autorun Virus Remover also has a FixSystem utility, which basically repairs various files in your computer and recovers lost data in USB device, and a Immunity tool. In settings you can set the program to be launched when Windows starts and also to display an alert window when a threat is detected. To be able to update the program you have to get the full version.
In conclusion i can't see anything wrong with Autorun Virus Remover. It has a decent looking interface, is lightweight and it offers you useful tools that keeps you data safe on your hard drive and also on a USB storage device.
