Excellent finance manager software
AceMoney Lite is a personal finance manager. After the program has been installed and you start it you will be prompted to choose a language.
After clicking next another window appears in which you can make various currency settings.
Basically you can set the default currency (there are available currencies from all over the world), the number of decimal digits, decimal point and thousands separator.
Then, by pressing again the next button, a Date settings windows is displayed. You can establish the format of the date and the separator.
After you have made all of this settings and you press finish, the program will ask if you want to load sample file. For the purpose of this test i clicked yes.
The main interface looks good. On the left side of the window there are displayed the main functions: New Account, Pay Bills, Analyze the reports and Currency exchange. Now lets take a look at each one of them.
Entering in New Account, obviously you are able to create an account.
You can specify the name, to which group the account belongs (bank, cash, credit, investment and loan accounts), the name of the bank, account number, opening balance, balance limit etc. Here a very nice feature is Online Setup. This allows you to download transactions for a specific account.
The next category is Pay Bills. Here you have available various options. The first thing that needs to be done is to press Add bill/deposit.
A window appears in which you are able to make various settings: establish the frequency, set the bill type.
Below this, there is an Account box and what type of operation do you want to be performed: withdrawal, deposit or transfer. Some other fields that can be seen here are Payee and Category.
After you have added your bill/deposit, you will be able to enter it into the registry and operate various other changes such as Edit, Skip and Delete.
Now lets have a look at the Analyze the reports field. Basically here you can check out various type of reports.
You have general ones, which includes Cash Flow Reports, Last 30 Days Transactions, Spendings by accounts, Transactions by criteria.
Beside that you also have Category reports (this includes Spendings by categories, Spendings by subcategories, Monthly spendings by categories, Monthly spendings by subcategories), Payee reports (Spending by payees, Monthly spendings by payees), Budget reports (Budget by categories, Budget by subcategories) and Investment reports (Performance by investments).
A very useful field is Currency exchange. Basically here you can find out the exact currency exchange rate. Just select from the list a specific currency and the program will convert the value that has been entered into your default currency.
If you want to update the program you can very easily do that by pressing the Update now button.
Now lets take a look at the menus located at the top of the main window. In Accounts you can check out all the accounts that you have introduced into the software.
Clicking on Banks, here is available a list with various banks. If in that list you are not able to find the one at which you currently have an account you can very easily add that bank.
In Payees you can edit, add or delete various payees and in Categories as you can probably guess can be added or edited various type of categories.
Going to View, you have displayed keyboard shortcuts for various type of functions (Accounts - F2, Banks - F3, Reports - F7 etc).
Switching to the Accounts field, here you can easily add a new one and add or edit various groups.
In tools you are provided a set of very useful utilities: Exchange rates, Transaction labels, Transaction tags, Backup, Restore, Mortgage Calculator, Loan Calculator and others.
In case you encounter difficulties in using the program at any time you can take a look at the Help section. Beside the usual documentation you also have available some very useful tutorials.
If you want to update the program, in Help you can very easily do that. Just press Check for updates.
If it happens that you need a software to manage all of your personal finances, AceMoney Lite is a good choice. It has a good looking interface, great functions to manage your fiances and a very useful set of tools.
The main problem with the program is that is very difficult to be operated even by an experienced user. Yes the available settings and options are very useful but there are much to many.
