One of the best image viewers on the web

Xnview is a very popular image viewer. The moment you have finished to install it and you start the program you will be welcomed by a Configuration wizard window. Here you can choose options such as language, image file types and system integration. Also you can set up the program to make periodically various updates.

When eventually the program starts in front of you will appear a great looking interface. You can choose to view it in a window or full screen mode. The images can be displayed in the form of thumbnails, icons, list and details. Also on the same bar where is located the View As section can be found fields such as Favorites and Categories.
 
In the Categories section can be located specific folders such as: Audios, Drawings, Icons, Photographs, Pictures, Videos etc. In the right corner of the application there is available the entire system menu. Right under the window where the thumbnails are displayed there is a preview of the image that you are going to open in full screen mode.

XnView allows you to create new folders, rename various pictures and also to delete them. The images can be sorted according to name, extension, date, type, file size, image size etc. Right under the basic menu which contains general elements such as File, Edit, View, Tools etc, there is a clever system menu that allows you to access features such as search, capture, slide show, and general options. The moment you have double clicked on a picture this will be displayed in full screen.

On the top bar you have available plenty of options in order to manipulate the picture. Some of the most important ones are the zoom in and out functions, remove red eye, adjust brightness/contrast/gama/balance, jpg lossless transformations. To switch back to the main window you either press the escape button or right under the file and edit options you click on the browser field.
 
In the general options menu you can operate various changes to: how to control the images with the keyboard and mouse, the interface, browser, view and also system integration. What i really like about Xnview is that it supports a massive number of file formats. To have a clear idea about this enter the general options menu, go to system integration and associations.

In my opinion XnView is easily one of the best image viewers. It has a extremely good looking interface, supports a wide variety of files, the image is displayed in the application and not in a external window like in IrfanView, there is a preview image mode etc. During the test i was not able to find any flaws to this program. Despite of the fact that it has top notch features and lots of options available it doesn't take lots of system resources. Beside that the program is installed and runs very fast.
