Powerful application for developers

Adobe Air is a cross operating system runtime that allows developers to create, by using HTML, Javascript, Flex and XML, new Internet applications. The installer has approximately 12MB and the installation process takes a very short amount of time.

This runtime platform basically installs and runs an application on Windows, Linux and Mac computers. In order to support this specific devices Adobe has made various changes and added some new features such as: CSS@font-face rule, H.264 video hardware decoding and StageWeb View.

Beside that the application also supports devices such as tablet PCs and smartphones. For the users Adobe Air definitely that is a very useful program. Basically it provides access to RIA (rich Internet applications). This can be run directly from the desktop.

The best thing about the rich Internet applications is the fact that they do not use a lot of system memory and because of this they can be launched extremely fast. On top of that they provide extremely smooth animations.

Adobe Air has allowed developers to create various desktop tools or hybrid applications which can easily integrate with numerous Internet services.
