Check email in a very easy and fast manner

Mozilla Thunderbird is one of the best e-mail clients. Beside being a top notch email application, Thunderbird is also an RSS feed reader. This is a very useful feature when you want to follow the news sites or other similar Internet places.

After the program is installed and you start it a "Mail Account Setup" window will appear. Here you will have to write down your name, email and password. After you have accomplished that you will be welcomed by a decent looking interface with a pretty intuitive menu system. In the main window are displayed all the features that this application has to offer: email, newsgroups, feeds, accounts.

Beside those there are also some advanced features such as search messages, manage message filters, manage folder subscriptions and offline settings. When creating the account you can choose to do this process automatically by clicking Create Account or manually by pressing the Manual Setup button. For a beginner definitely that the most recommended thing to do is to press the Create Account button.

If in the past you have used other mail applications and you want to make the switch to Mozilla Thunderbird there is no need to worry about loosing vital information because with this program you can very easily set up your IMAP or POP 3 account and import contacts and mail from your Outlook account.

It is well know that the email is the main source when it comes to viruses. Because of this Mozilla Thunderbird provides various security solutions such as message encryption, support for valid certificates and spam filter.
 
Just like Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird has plenty of customization tools. You can choose to integrate various extensions and add-ons to your inbox and add or remove from the action panel various icons. Without a doubt that until know all sounds great. However there are a couple of aspects that need lots of improvement. Although an RSS reader has been included there is no calendar. Also there is no support for Microsoft exchange.

Definitely that Mozilla Thunderbird is a pretty good application. It has great features and a decent level of usability. However there is lots of room for improvement.
