Record your voice and make various modifications to your mp3's
WavePad Sound Editor just like the name says is a sound editor for Windows. Once you start the program you will notice that it has a pretty interface which is intuitive and well designed.
To load an audio file into the application you need to go to the File section, which is located at the top left corner of the main window, and select Open file.
Navigate to the folder where you know that you have stored mp3's or any other types of audio files and select one. Your song will be displayed on the main window. Basically you can choose to split or add to it various audio effects.
Also you can change the pitch and speed of the song, apply noise reduction, cross fade effects, fade in and fade out etc. On top of that you have available an equalizer and if you want you can easily record from audio inputs such as a record player or a microphone.
WavePad Sound Editor has certainly plenty of options. By entering in effects basically you can choose from a wide range of audio effects such as Amplify, Normalize, Automatic Gain Control, Dynamic Range Compressor, Equalizer, Directx Effects etc.
In Control which is located at the top of the window next to the Effects section you can choose to play the song at various speeds, record, etc. By going in tools you can operate various settings. You can choose to download sample sounds from the Sound Library, Synthesize Speech etc. In the tools section you also have available the general options.
Here you can operate various general and audio settings. On top of that you can change the appearance of the program, choose from various playback options and use Wavepad by default to open various file types such as wav, mp3, aif, gsm, vox, mpg, mpeg, wmv etc.
In the View category you can choose to operate various modifications to the way how is displayed the application. You can add or remove various toolbars, change various menus to be displayed in the left or right side of the program, etc.
If you encounter problems in using this sound editor there is a excellent help section. You even have available video tutorials. WavePad Sound Editor also includes a Burn CD and tone generator. To take advantage of these features you need to download them. However the good thing is that this downloads can be made for free.
At the end of this review i can say that i like WavePad Sound Editor. It packs lots of features, has a well designed and good looking interface and supports a wide variety of formats. The only complaint that i have is that, just like all the sound editors, the program is a little bit to complex for a novice user.
