Softworld editor's review
iTunes is the default music player for hundreds of millions of people from all over the world. The latest version of this application adds support for the operating system iOS 4.3 for iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad. Beside that there is also support for AirPlay streaming video to Apple TVs. iTunes is available for Mac and Windows operating systems.
Buy, listen and share your favorite music
This new iTunes version has certainly not suffered massive changes but only minor tweaks. Such a change is the way how is displayed the capacity of your devices while you are syncing. Another one is the new view mode or the alternative to the list view option when taking a look through the library.
However the most significant change is the addition of Ping. This is basically a social network for music. Friends can follow, view and comment on each others songs that they enjoy the most or new purchases. Beside that Ping allows you to follow your favorite artists and download their newest music, check out tour updates and see what they recommend. Although all of this sounds great when using this feature you get the feeling that you are dealing with an unfinished product. For instance manual sharing can not be done to your library, but only to the iTunes Store.
If the older version, iTunes 9, did not run properly on a pretty decent machine with iTunes 10.2 the situation has changed totally. The new version loads up more quickly and navigating through the software is a lot more speedy.
Basically this are some of the most notable features that can be found in the new iTunes. If you just want to listen your favorite music without any kind of complications then definitely that there are plenty other audio file players to use. However if you want from a player a little bit more then maybe iTunes is the best solution for you.
